WHAT IS ASQ-3?
We are so excited to have received a grant and special training with a developmental screening assessment that will be implemented at HO4K. ASQ (ages and stages questionnaire) is the best developmental and social-emotional screening for children from one month to 5 ½ years. Highly reliable and valid, ASQ looks at strengths and trouble spots, educates parents about developmental milestones, and incorporates parents’ expert knowledge about their children. The ASQ-3 is a set of questionnaires about children's development. It has been used for more that 20 years to make sure that children are developing well. It is called a screener because it looks at how children are doing in important areas, such as speech, physical ability, social skills and problem-solving skills. ASQ-3 can help identify a child's strengths as well as any areas where you child may need support.
Throughout the year HO4K will be administering this state of the art assessment to its students. Parents will be asked to complete their own questionnaire at home, while teachers observe students at school. This assessment will provide valuable information in helping track your child's progress and will address any need for further review. Look for these packets to come home and remember we are a team!
