Hands-On-4-Kids Preschool directs the development of each child:
Socially
Intellectually
Emotionally
Physically
We strive to help the natural unfolding of each child's potential. Out main responsibilities, therefore, are to prepare the environment with a variety of exciting "hands-on" learning experiences and to observe, oversee, and nurture each child's progress through these experiences. Our belief that approaching children in a positive, consistent and warm manner is highly effective. By allowing the children open time to plan and carry out their own activities, they become imaginative, self-directed learners and problem solvers. By offering a well balanced amount of teacher directed activities with child directed activities children become involved, self motivated learners of age appropriate games, activities and social manners.
With focus on the individual child we set goals for each child that are met through both structured and open ended learning experiences in centers including:
where stories, songs, finger plays, puppets, and games are also used.
We use the Project approach to learning with emergent curriculum that is developmentally appropriate. Concepts are arranged in order of skill acquisition. thus the child is given the opportunity to master a simple concept before progressing to a more complex one. By providing this opportunity for success, the child experiences a growing sense of self worth and a personal JOY in learning! Joy is both the objective and the main method of the program. By feeling the joy that comes from having a hands on processing experience, children become motivated to repeat the enjoyment by repeating the process.
We recognize the importance of working closely with families and acknowledge family involvement as an essential and vital component of the total learning process. Parents are encouraged to participate in all activities within the program.
We believe that each child's development is guided by cooperative team of family members and professionals through observation, interaction, and well planned learning activities which incorporate the following:
